Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why are your cookies so expensive?
You’re not just paying me for a batch of cookies. They are custom pieces of art. The time and effort that it takes to create this specific kind of cookie is around 4 hours- and that doesn’t include the drying time. Some sets are hand-painted, some sets have fine details, and some require multiple colors and consistencies of icing. I promise you that I’m not trying to swindle anyone. Additionally- you’re paying for the packaging, as each cookies comes individually heat-sealed in cellophane bags so they remain fresh.
2 . How do I know the exact cost of what I want to order?
Ask for an estimate! I know that my cookies are costly- and I promise that I don’t take any offense if you ask for an estimate and then choose not to buy. One dozen will always start at $60.00, and it has potential to go up from there based on ingredients, details, number of colors used & packaging.
3. Why is your availability so limited?
Lincoln. He’s my priority. The majority of my cookie process happens after his bedtime, and sometimes I can sneak in baking in the mornings while he watches The Descendants for the millionth time. It’s a beautiful life that I’m living.
4. Why can’t you ship the cookies?
I live in New Hampshire and according to the Homestead Food Laws in NH I would have to obtain license to do so. My products are made in my home kitchen and are exempt from New Hampshire licensing and inspection. Here is a link to some more information https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/fp/documents/homesteadfaq.pdf
I do have cookie friends in other parts of the state (and some other states) if you need cookies I can spread the word.
5. When are you available?
Availability calendars are on the website. I update them regularly. I usually open 2-3 months at a time.
6. What do you offer for flavors?
My royal icing is almost always vanilla. I am constantly working on new flavors, and trying new things.
As for cookies, I offer a few flavors:
Vanilla Bean
Cinnamon
Chocolate (additional cost applied)
Chocolate chip (additional cost applied)
Lemon (additional cost applied)
I have Gluten-Friendly and Vegan Friendly options available with advanced notice (additional cost applied).
7. Do you do cakes, cupcakes, pies or breads?
Short answer- no. Long answer- I LOVE creating custom cookies. I’ve made custom cakes for years, but I just don’t love it as much as I enjoy creating little edible pieces of art. I have some fellow bakers I can recommend to you!
8. Do you post pictures of all your sets?
Actually no. Not anymore. Sometimes I barely have time to take pictures before they leave my house. If I get a chance to take a picture I’ll share it with the customer so they know to expect it in my feed at some point.
ALLERGY INFORMATION:
All of my orders are labeled with a food label due to NH Homestead Food Operation rules. The label states the ingredients that are in each recipe. While nut ingredients aren’t used in all of the recipes, it is important to know that my home is NOT a nut-free facility, and I produce my cookies using equipment that are NOT solely nut-free. If you have concerns send me a message and I will do my best to address them.
